About Ann Louise Wall MAPP Dance (Health and Wellbeing) BAPP (Dance) S.N.H.S Dip (Sports Psychology and dynamics)
Ann trained to Advanced level with Richard Slaughter in the Cechetti Method, on The Royal Ballet School Associate Programme and at English National Ballet School. Whilst at school she had the opportunity to perform in the My First Ballet Series: Swan Lake at The Peacock Theatre London and on tour in Manchester and Woking, performing the roles of Big Swans and The Queen. Ann’s most notable school performances include dancing at The Royal Opera House in A Spring Celebration gala, dancing a soloist role in the ballet Raymonda at The New Wimbledon Theatre and appearing in Le Corsaire with English National Ballet. She was also a teaching assistant for the English National Ballet school’s Saturday classes for children.
Ann also holds a First class BA Hons Degree in Professional Practice in Arts (Dance) from Middlesex University.
Ann has danced professionally with Ballet Cymru where she performed at The Sadler’s Wells Theatre and The Wales Millennium Centre Cardiff alongside The National Orchestra of Wales. Whilst with the company, she had the opportunity to dance the roles of Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet and Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She also taught on the company’s associate programme and school workshops.
Ann has a passion for ensuring everyone has access to ballet performances and classes and is part of North Wales based ‘Ballet Pod’s’ Initiative to bring ballet to unlikely places. She has performed in care homes, bookshops, play groups and dance schools both in the local communities of North Wales as well as further afield in Shropshire and London and 2018 performed at The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. She also danced in The Nutcracker with Brecon Festival Ballet in 2019.
Ann is currently a Principal dancer and teacher for English Youth Ballet and has been working with them since 2020. She has danced roles including Aurora (Sleeping Beauty and Odette (Swan Lake).
Ann has also worked on a number of interesting projects with Director and Choreographer Sally Marie from Sweetshop Revolutions.
Ann is also a teacher at a number of London ballet schools and
also runs her own private coaching and repertoire classes online.
Ann is also a qualified Colour Therapist, Mental Health First Aider with MHFA England. She holds a Diploma with Distinction in Child Development and Psychology, a diploma with Distinction in Sports Psychology and Dynamics from The School of Natural Health Sciences. She holds an MA Professional practice in Dance (Health and Wellbeing) from Middlesex University and is a Fellow of ClimArts, currently creating climate themed work under the incubator programme at ClimArts.

I am a dedicated dancer who is willing to work hard. It is very important to me to really get inside the roles that I perform, I always strive to touch audiences, and it is my mission to give them something that they can take away and always remember.

I take great care preparing my classes and it brings me great joy to teach. I strive to create a nurturing and positive learning environment. With younger children I use a very creative approach to helping them understand the technique and artistry of ballet.

Performance Experience
2020-Current (2023 season): Principal Dancer with English Youth Ballet. Roles Include: Odette in Swan Lake, Aurora, Lilac Fairy and Princess Florine in Sleeping Beauty, Dawn Solo in Coppelia and Spirit Mother in Cinderella, Myrtha and peasant pas de deux in Giselle, Clara’s Mother and Lead flower in The Nutcracker.Venues included: Aylesbury Waterside Theatre, Darlington Hippodrome, New Theatre Cardiff, Regent Theatre Stoke on Trent, Churchill Theatre Bromley, Nottingham Theatre Royal.
Bromley gala 2022 with Royal Ballet dancers Claire Calvert and Nicol Edmonds: Repertoire included: Chopin Variations, Porgy and Bess, Aurora's Wedding Act 3 (dancing the title role). Churchill Theatre Bromley.
2020-2021 season: Teaching and dancing in the Bromley (August 2020) and Torquay (October-November 2020) Tchaikovsky Gala courses. Performing Aurora Act 3 Variation from The Sleeping Beauty for filmed performance during the Covid 19 Pandemic.
December 2021: A December Evening with The Ballet Pod. Repertoire included Swan Lake pas de deux, The Swan, Baroque ballet, Pavlova Gavotte, Sugar Plum Fairy variation as well as new choreographies created in collaboration with other dancers. Other duties included creation of programmes, publicity circulating, creating running order, organisation and collating of costumes and headdresses, teaching class to the company and organising sound cues.
December 2019-December 2021: Appearances for dance schools and pre schools across London as well as on zoom during lockdowns as different ballet characters including: Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker, Odette from Swan Lake, Swanhilda from Coppelia, Lilac Fairy from Sleeping Beauty.
February 2020: Ballet Pod bookshop performance of Swan Lake with window display, performance and workshop for children.
December 2019: Brecon Festival Ballet: The Nutcracker (Snowflakes, Waltz of The Flowers, cover for Arabian Dance)
2016 – 2019: Ballet Cymru (Ballet Wales) dancing the soloist roles of Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet and Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Also danced in the UK tour of Little Red Riding hood, venues included Sadler's Wells Theatre and WMC Cardiff alongside the National Orchestra of Wales.
March 2019: Made in Wales performance with Ballet Cymru. Repertoire included soloist role in Jack Philp’s EXSITU.
Feb 2019: Performed excerpt from Jack Philp’s choreography EXSITU for The Welsh Business Awards at Cardiff City Hall. Hosted Gethin Jones (national TV presenter).
July 2018: Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod Ballet Pod performances. Repertoire included: The Little Mermaid solo, Pas de deux from Lyra’s Dream, Baroque Ballet, Cinderella and the dancing Master (ugly sister) and a series of Gershwin pieces.
